What to expect from a Clincal Reflexology treatment
At the initial treatment I will ask some questions about your current and past medical history and your lifestyle which will take approximately 15 minutes. You will then be asked to remove your shoes and socks and I will wipe your feet with a moist wipe and some lotion will be applied to aid movement of my hands over your feet. This is followed by an exploratory treatment where pressure will be applied to the feet, lower legs or hands (dependant on the reflexology treatment chosen) using thumbs, fingers or knuckles to identify any areas of imbalance. Some areas of the feet may feel tender when pressed but this will pass. The overall general experience should feel relaxing.
As a result of the investigatory treatment, a bespoke treatment plan will be created for you with home care suggestions. If you choose to return for further treatments, I will discuss your health and wellbeing since your last appointment and amend the treatment plan accordingly.
Follow up treatments tend to last around an hour.
How will I feel after the treatment
Most people feel an improved sense of well being and experience a deep feeling of relaxation after one or two treatments. Occasionally people report having a mild headache, mild tiredness and needing to go to the toilet more often but this should pass within 24 - 48 hours. This is an indication that toxins are being eliminated from the body and is a normal part of the healing process. It is important to drink plenty of water for the next 24 hours to aid this detoxifying process.
